Eat Your Heart Out Food Hall Durango Casino in Las Vegas

Today, I found myself wandering through the bustling food hall Eat Your Heart Out at Durango Casino in Las Vegas, renowned for its diverse culinary offerings. There were so many choices of food to choose from. There was Irv’s Burgers, Prince Street Pizza, Uncle Paulies Deli, Vesta Coffee, Yu-Or-Mi Sushi, Fiorella Pastas, Shang Artisan Noodles, Nielsons Frozen Custard, and an Oyster Bar. Among the tempting choices, Ai Pono Hawaiian Street Food caught my eye, promising a taste of the islands right here in the heart of Vegas.

Menu Highlights

Ai Pono’s menu is a celebration of Hawaiian street food favorites, featuring dishes that showcase the fusion of flavors influenced by the island’s diverse culinary heritage. As I perused the options, several dishes immediately caught my attention:

  1. Guava Chili Pepper ChickenFried Bone-In Chicken Thighs Dipped in ‘Ai Pono Made Guava Chili Pepper Glaze with Mac and Asian Slaw

  2. Togarashi Garlic Pork Chops: 24-hour marinated Boneless Pork Chops Grilled with Our Spicy Garlic BBQ Glaze

  3. Spam Musubi: A popular snack or light meal, this simple yet delicious dish features grilled Spam pressed atop a block of rice and wrapped in nori—a tasty treat that’s easy to enjoy on the go.

Our Choices

After much deliberation (and a lot of stomach growls), I settled on the Da Mento Fkin Bento and my husband got the Da “Korean” Zombie. The wait wasn’t long, and soon enough, I found myself digging into a plate filled with generous portions of Guava Chili Pepper Chicken, Lollipop Shrimp, Hot Dog, Spam, Mahi Mahi Fish Jun, (OG) Beef perfectly complemented by the creamy macaroni salad and fluffy rice. My husband started digging into Korean Short Rib, Crispy Korean Chicken Meat Jun, Rice & Kim Chee.

Both dishes were absolutely delicious but we loved the variety that came with the bento plate. Everything about it was so good! The Guava Chili pepper had the perfect amount of spice. I just want to swim in the macaroni salad as well.
